Dry eye Syndrome

Dry eye syndrome, also known as dry eye disease or keratoconjunctivitis sicca, is a condition in which the eyes do not produce enough tears or the tears evaporate too quickly, resulting in dryness and irritation of the eyes. The condition can cause symptoms such as dryness, itching, redness, burning, and a feeling of grit or sand in the eyes. It can also cause vision problems, such as blurry vision or sensitivity to light.
Dry eye syndrome can be caused by a variety of factors, including aging, certain medications, certain medical conditions, and environmental factors such as dry or windy conditions. Treatment may include the use of artificial tears, warm compresses, and other measures to help increase tear production and protect the surface of the eye. In some cases, medication or surgery may be necessary to treat the underlying cause of dry eye syndrome..
